Gems are a secondary currency reported in current Flatten The Mountain gameplay. Community material checked September 1, 2026 connects them with buried chests and purchases in the lobby Pickaxe Store. One guide also shows a lobby Claim 100 Gems option, but the availability, eligibility, repeat rule, and permanence of that claim need confirmation in the current interface.
Keep gems separate from cash. Cash belongs to the core mining and Skill Tree loop, while gems appear to support longer-term lobby purchases. A chest, claim, or update can change the gem balance without changing normal cash-per-block performance.
Check your current gem balance
Find the gem display in the lobby or relevant store panel before entering the mountain. Record the starting amount and any visible claim button. Do not press a claim until you can see the before-and-after balance and read whether it is one-time, timed, group-limited, or tied to another action.
After returning from a run, compare the balance. If it increased, identify the event that likely caused it: a chest, lobby claim, code, purchase, completion, or another displayed reward. The checked public sources do not establish every source, so keep unexplained changes labeled unknown.
Do not convert cash and gems mentally as if they share a fixed exchange rate. Their uses and acquisition conditions differ, and no creator-published conversion table was found.
Currently reported gem sources
Buried chests
Status: chest existence is official; gem reward is community reported.
Current example: one recorded chest was associated with a 50-gem result.
Unknown: full reward table, fixed amount, location, rate, and sharing.
Action: check balances before and after every chest.
Lobby claim
Status: community-reported UI on September 1, 2026.
Current label: Claim 100 Gems in the cited guide.
Unknown: who qualifies, whether it repeats, and how long it remains available.
Action: read the current button and result.
Codes
Status: no creator-verified code or redemption interface confirmed on September 1.
Known reward: none.
Action: do not count fake code lists as a gem source.
Check: use the dated Codes page.
Other sources
Status: not established by the checked public material.
Possible screen: completion or event results must be observed directly.
Action: record an unexplained balance change without inventing its source.
These cards are a working source map, not a promise that every current source is represented. Updates can add or remove claims, rewards, and store mechanics.
Record a chest reward correctly
End any cash timer before opening a buried chest. Write down current cash, gems, layer or progress, party, and active effects. Open the chest, read the popup, and check both balances again.
If gems increase, attach the exact amount to that one observation. Do not publish it as every chest’s reward until repeated current runs show the same rule. If the popup is hidden or another reward occurs at the same time, keep the amount unknown and repeat later.
In a group, compare every participating player’s gem balance. The opener may receive the reward, all players may receive it, or another current rule may apply. Server capacity and leaderboard labels do not answer chest sharing.
Spend gems in the Pickaxe Store
Community gameplay connects gems with lobby pickaxes. Open the store and confirm the gem icon next to the candidate price. Record the tool name, displayed rarity, effect or multiplier, price, ownership language, and availability.
Compare the pickaxe with your current manual route. A large improvement early in a run can justify spending, while a small improvement late in an automation-heavy run may not. Gem value depends on how quickly you can earn more and whether the store has other current uses.
Do not assume every store offer uses gems. Community material also reports Robux options. A Robux confirmation is a separate premium decision, and a bundle can contain gems without being a gem-priced item.
Decide whether to save or spend
Do not spend the entire balance simply because one tool is available. Check whether the current version exposes another gem sink. If the store is the only visible use, make the best current manual-mining comparison rather than saving for an unverified future item.
Gem persistence and resets
The checked community material says gems accumulate across runs, but persistence should still be confirmed on your account. Record the balance before a run, after returning to the lobby, after rejoining, and after completing or resetting the mountain.
Do not test persistence by risking a large balance unnecessarily. Use a small observed gain first. If gems disappear, check whether the display belongs to a run, party, server, or account state before assuming a bug.
Avoid gem scams
No external generator can legitimately add account gems. Do not install software, browser extensions, or scripts. Never share a Roblox password, session cookie, two-step code, or recovery information for a currency offer.
Use the official experience and visible Roblox purchase interface. The Codes page reports that no creator-verified working code was found on September 1; do not enter unrelated game strings to chase a gem reward.
Gems FAQ
How do I get gems?
Current community gameplay reports gems from buried chests and shows a lobby claim option. Exact rewards, eligibility, repetition, and every possible source need confirmation in the current game.
What are gems used for?
The checked guide connects them to the lobby Pickaxe Store. Inspect the current store for exact prices and any other visible gem uses.
Does every chest give 50 gems?
No such universal rule is established. Fifty gems is one community-reported example and should remain attached to that dated observation.
Do gems carry across runs?
Community reporting suggests they stack over runs. Confirm persistence by comparing the visible balance before, after, and following a rejoin.
